“ They've moved since I first visited. The new space is across from Lion's Gate movie studios. It's larger, more updated & clean. The bar is right in the middle of the restaurant soon as you walk in. I was shopping next door @ another Black owned business. I don't always like heavy soul food or meat. I opted for the veggie platter which is basically ALL items from the sides portion. You get the option of 3 or 4 items. The bar staff were nice & took my order. Order: Mac & Cheese, Cabbage, Yams, & Green beans. Arnold Palmer drink, it's so sweet that I can split it into two with ice & it tastes better watered down. I'll say that everything was delicious & portions are plenty. My only complaint is the green beans were super salty, like almost couldn't eat them. Also, they don't pack my food well for takeout. Pls wrap in cling wrap on the containers. All the liquid spilled inside my bag. It could've messed up my car. I'd be pissed! Otherwise, I'm gonna keep coming to April's Place whenever I'm In the area. ”

“ I read a raving review about April's Place, so we decided to go Saturday around 2 pm. The restaurant is in a new strip mall and there were plenty of parking spaces. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted with a smile and seated promptly. The decor was average and people were casually dressed. The waiter was polite, attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We ordered the seafood egg rolls as an appetizer, they were really good. The shrimp/grits a fish were good but could use a little more seasoning. The mac and cheese was delicious. The collard greens were not my favorite, bland. Overall, my experience was good. ”
